Außerdem will die Firma Druck auf die lokalen Palmölanbauer und die indonesische Regierung ausüben, um die Zerstörung des Regenwalds zu verhindern.
Grundsätzlich finde ich es gut, wie Unilever reagiert hat. Allerdings löst natürlich weder die Greenpeace-Kampagne noch die Unilever-Aktionen das grundsätzliche Problem der Armut der Menschen vor Ort, die aufgrund von steigenden Preisen für Nahrungsmittel versuchen, Produkte für den Export in die Industrieländer anzubauen. Eigentlich kann das ganze nur klappen, wenn die Indonesische Regierung den Anbau von Palmöl limitiert und gleichzeitig die Preise erhöht werden. Indonesien, bzw. Borneo, ist groß und die lokalen Behörden mit anderen Problemen überfordert.
